The two-piece ball valve has one body joint which means the body is composed of two pieces, hence the name two piece. This 2 piece body allows a larger ball to be installed at the time of manufacture, which makes this a full bore or full port ball valve. Full bore means that the borehole in the ball has the same inside diameter as that of the piping it is connected to.
Two-piece valve bodies are a solution annealed for the highest quality and added strength. All body castings are marked with a foundry head number for full traceability.
Functionality
These valves offer quarter turn operation and low operating torque and feature live-loaded, self-adjusting stem seals that automatically adjust packing to compensate for changes in wear and temperature.
Advantages
- Keeps high flow rate: Completely unrestricted flow that does not allow any restrictions through the valve
- Quick to install and easy to use: The two-piece design and the minimum number of bolts to remove allow for repairs without removing the whole valve from the line
